| Microsoft Server Administrator
Job Description:
• Software and hardware management with oversight for support and patching of Microsoft servers and systems.
• Assisting and supporting team members to ensure quality customer service.
• Work toward timely resolution of incidents as identified by the Service Desk
• Resolve issues arising on supported servers and networks, escalating and managing them as appropriate.
• Monitor and resolve problems with backups to ensure adequate protection of company data.
Qualifications And Experience Required:
The ideal candidate will have the following:
• Some experience in installing and supporting Microsoft server infrastructure (hardware and software) and supporting products in an enterprise environment.
• Experience providing services for users across multiple sites.
• Understanding of the problems and considerations of rollouts and system changes on a large user base
• Detailed knowledge of DNS, AD (2003 or 2008), WINS, DHCP
• Detailed knowledge of Windows 2000, Windows 2003 and all services and components
• Good understanding of NTFS permissions, DFS, FSR, Group Policies
• Understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, ports, TCP, UDP, routing tables, subnets, vLANS
• Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical
• The ability to document work to a high, clear standard.
• Ability to proactively identify and define necessary tasks and work on them with limited supervision.
